Two incidents of rape were reported to the IU Police Department earlier this month, IUPD Public Information Officer Hannah Skibba said.
The IU Title IX office reported the first incident March 7. The incident occurred March 4 at Eigenmann Hall. The incident was not reported by the individual involved and has been referred to university officials for review, Skibba said.
The second incident was reported to IUPD on March 12 by a former IU student. Skibba said the student reported being sexually assaulted while intoxicated April 19, 2024, at the Third and Union Apartments. The case is currently under investigation.
IUPD has received a total of 32 rape reports and 17 reports of sexual battery since August 2024.
