Former Indiana men's basketball freshman forward Bryson Tucker committed to Washington out of the transfer portal, according to his X post Saturday.

Tucker, a former four-star recruit, entered the portal March 28, exactly one year after he originally committed to play for the Hoosiers under then-head coach Mike Woodson.

The decision to enter the portal also came 10 days after Indiana hired Darian DeVries to be its next head men’s basketball coach March 18. At the time of his decision, Tucker was the last scholarship player on the roster with eligibility remaining to hit the portal.

The Bowie, Maryland, native appeared in 23 games for the Hoosiers during the 2024-25 season. He averaged 5.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game.

The 2024 McDonald’s All-American will stay in the Big Ten going to Washington. He joins a Huskies team that finished last in the conference standing last season, going 13-18 overall, 4-16 in conference play.

Tucker is the sixth Hoosier to commit to another school out of the portal after sophomore forward Mackenzie Mgbako chose Texas A&M University out of the portal April 17. Currently, sophomore guard Kanaan Carlyle is the only Hoosier player still in the portal.

Tucker is also the third former Hoosier to go to a Big Ten school out of the portal. Sophomore guard Gabe Cupps committed to Ohio State on March 26 and redshirt sophomore guard Myles Rice to Maryland on April 6.

Tucker will have three years of eligibility remaining.
