Malik Reneau committed to the University of Miami on Wednesday, according to a post on his X account.

Reneau entered the portal March 18, just after Indiana men’s basketball announced the hiring of head coach Darian DeVries.

“I’m Coming Home,” Reneau said in the post. “It’s All About the U.”

The Miami native spent the past three seasons with Indiana, totaling over 1,000 points. Reneau finished his Hoosiers career averaging 11.9 points and 5.1 rebounds in 85 appearances.

Reneau joined Indiana from Montverde Academy ahead of the 2022-23 season, one in which the Hoosiers finished second in the Big Ten and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Reneau logged 26 appearances –– all off the bench –– as he played behind program-great Trayce Jackson-Davis.

In his sophomore season, Reneau made a leap in minutes, scoring and rebounds. However, the Hoosiers failed to reach the NCAA Tournament with a 19-14 record

Despite missing five games due to injury in the 2024-25 season, Reneau averaged 13.3 points per game in 19 starts as Indiana finished 19-13 overall and 10-10 in the Big Ten.

Following a 7-24 season in 2024-25, Miami hired Duke University associate head coach Jai Lucas on March 6 to fill the head coaching vacancy after former head coach Jim Larrañaga stepped down midway through the season.
