Former Indiana men’s basketball guard Myles Rice committed to Maryland on Sunday, according to his Instagram post.

Rice spent one season with Indiana, averaging 10.1 points and 2.8 assists. He appeared in all 32 games with 25 starts, as he was one of only four Hoosiers to make an appearance in every game.

Before arriving in Bloomington, Rice played for Washington State University. He redshirted his first season with the Cougars in 2021-22 and medically redshirted the 2022-23 season as he underwent treatment for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

During his redshirt freshman season in 2023-24, Rice started all 35 games and averaged 14.8 points and 3.8 assists. He earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors, as well as appearances on the Freshman All-America team, All-Pac-12 first team and Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.

Rice now joins a Maryland squad led by new head coach Buzz Williams, who was hired April 1 after six seasons at Texas A&M University. The Terrapins finished the 2024-25 season with a 27-9 record, finishing second in the Big Ten and reaching the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 before losing to No. 1-seed University of Florida.
