Isaiah Specks, who spent the 2024-25 season as Director of Player Development/Scouting, is departing the Indiana women’s basketball program, according to his social media posts April 19.

Specks appeared in 98 games as a player at Trinity University from 2015-19 before beginning his coaching career there in 2019-20 as a women’s basketball assistant coach. He then went to Houghton College, where he spent two seasons from 2020-22 as an assistant coach with the men’s basketball program.

Ahead of the 2023-24 season, Specks came to Bloomington to serve as a graduate assistant. He was then elevated to the Director of Player Devlopment/Scouting on July 26, 2024. In the post, Specks described it as an “incredible experience.”

“I’ve learned so much from Coach Teri Moren and her staff, and I’ve really enjoyed being involved in player development, defensive planning, and making in-game adjustments,” Specks wrote.

But after two seasons with Moren and the Hoosiers, Specks will now seek a new coaching position elsewhere.

“Now, I’m excited to take the next step in my coaching career and find a new opportunity where I can keep growing, developing players, and contributing to a great program,” Specks wrote. “Excited for my next chapter!”
