After spending nearly three weeks in the transfer portal, former Indiana women’s basketball forward Lilly Meister committed to the University of Kansas on Monday, according to her Instagram post.
Meister originally entered the portal March 25 after three seasons at Indiana. Across her 96 games as a Hoosier, the Rochester, Minnesota, native averaged 4.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
During her first two seasons at Indiana, Meister backed up former Hoosier Mackenzie Holmes. After the program legend graduated, Meister slid into the starting lineup to begin 2024-25.
However, after Meister started the first 17 games, Indiana head coach Teri Moren opted to insert forward Karoline Striplin into the starting five for the remainder of the season.
Meister will now spend her final collegiate season in Lawrence, Kansas, as she’ll play for Kansas head coach Brandon Schneider, who is entering his 11th season at the helm of the Jayhawks.
In the 2024-25 season, Kansas finished 16-14 overall and 6-12 in conference play, which was good enough for 11th in the 16-school Big 12 Conference. The Jayhawks last made an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024, as they fell to No. 1-seeded USC in the Round of 32.
Three Hoosiers from the 2024-25 squad have now committed elsewhere as Meister joins forward Sharnecce Currie-Jelks and Yarden Garzon, who have committed to Murray State University and Maryland, respectively.
