Kappa Alpha Theta wins. Back-to-back wins mark their 10th victory.

Lap  95

Cheers grow louder and louder around Bill Armstrong Stadium. The margin for error is slim as ever as teams fight to push ahead leading into the final stretch.

Seven teams remain in the contending pack as they enter the final ten laps

Lap 85

The leading teams are gearing up to head into a dead sprint as final exchanges are made to close out the race while tension rises.

With just a quarter of the race remaining, the contenders have dwindled. Kappa Alpha Theta, Teter Cycling, Sigma Kappa, Novus, RideOn Cycling, Delta Gamma and Alpha Chi Omega lead the front pack.

Lap 65

Delta Gamma, Teter Cycling and WSR have remained at the front of the pack for the past few laps, trading the lead back and forth.

Lap 50

Eighteen teams remain in the front pack with Delta Gamma in the lead as the race reaches the halfway point.

Lap 40

Clouds have cleared and the sun is shining as Novus takes the lead with the top teams pushing to the front trying to gain space. Bike transitions from Novus, RideOn and Alpha Chi Omega scramble the leaderboard again.

Novus keeps trying to push a sprint to extend their lead, but the other riders continue to catch up and keep it close.

Lap 25

The pack tightens back up as all teams have made a formal bike transition. Following a chaotic first quarter of the race, Alpha Chi Omega and Delta Gamma are trading leads at the front.

Lap 15

Teter, Delta Gamma and WSR have lapped the riders in the back with WSR in the lead. These teams are pulling ahead early, using the crash to their advantage, but it is important to note that WSR has a disadvantage in the long run with only two total riders.

Lap 4

There’s a massive crash early as 15 riders are down in the back of the pack. Twenty teams secure a strong lead as freshman Libby Lewis for Alpha Chi Omega works hard to recover her teams standing just seconds behind the large pack up front.

Leading the way is Delta Gamma, but the pack of riders in front is tight as teams look for separation early.

Lap 1

The riders took take two warm-up laps, pacing slowly around the track as the Singing Hoosiers serenade the stadium with the Indiana fight song.

The green flag waves, and the race begins.

4:05 p.m.

Riders make their way over to the start line as the fans begin to erupt with cheers. The energy is palpable as riders line up in their respective orders for team introductions and for the reading of the rules before the inaugural lap and the beginning of the race.

4 p.m.

Announcements have begun and the 2024-2025 IU Student Foundation class takes the stage for recognition.

The Riders Council is recognized, and fans are reminded that this year, the 2025 Little 500  Students Helping Students campaign partnered with the Office of Student Life to destigmatize mental health at IU Bloomington.

IU President Pamela Whitten takes an honorary lap around the track in a white convertible along with fellow IU employees.

3:30 p.m.

The sun starts to peak through the clouds as teams have begun their prerace warmups around the track. As fans continue to pour in, the cheering grows louder.

Amid the prerace excitement, Alpha Chi Omega competes with the loud music blasting through the speakers, cheering ‘A-Chi-O, A-Chi-O’ in unison. Alpha Chi Omega came out in numbers to support their riders, who found great success in the spring series events and now look to take home the team's first Little 500 victory.

3 p.m.

All teams have made their way to their respective pits and fans have begun to populate the stands as the countdown to the race falls under an hour. Sororities pour in from their prerace festivities in matching outfits and holding signs in support for their riders.

2:30 p.m.

The day has arrived, and it’s now less than an hour and thirty minutes away from the start of the 37th annual women's Little 500 race. The chalk lines are being drawn, and riders are beginning to fill their pits as the atmosphere builds with anticipation and excitement.

Rainfall came throughout the morning but looks to have passed through. A clear weather report for the afternoon is good news for the spectators hoping to keep dry amid the dreary clouds.
