Serbian guard Aleksa Ristic committed to IU’s men’s basketball team Monday afternoon, his agent Stevan Petrovic confirmed to the Indiana Daily Student. PDT Scouting’s Arman Jovic first broke the news on X.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Ristic, 19, currently plays for KK Dynamic in the Basketball League of Serbia. Ristic averaged 13.8 points, 4.2 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game during the 2024-25 season, according to EuroBasket. He shot 46.2% from the field, 38.6% from the 3-point line and 83.7% at the foul stripe.
Ristic, who will play for the Serbia U20 team this summer, fills one of Indiana’s two remaining scholarships for the 2025-26 season.
First-year Indiana head coach Darian DeVries previously said the team “held back a couple scholarships” awaiting the NCAA’s decision on waiver appeals from recently graduated Hoosier wings Anthony Leal and Luke Goode. Now, only one spot remains open, while neither Leal nor Goode’s waiver status has been announced.
Indiana started summer workouts June 2 with six scholarship guards on its roster: juniors Nick Dorn, Jasai Miles and Jason Drake and redshirt seniors Lamar Wilkerson, Conor Enright and Tayton Conerway.
