Qualifications for the 60th running of the Little 500 are tomorrow! Throughout the year there are always some milestone days that are fun to tick off, but I really feel like Qualifications is the true start to the L5 season. Quals is a pretty simple enough concept. Every member of team must ride one lap for a total of four laps against the clock with four clean exchanges. Then out of the 40 plus teams on the men's side that will be making attempts tomorrow, only the top 33 times will qualify for the race. The top qualifying team is given the accolade of wearing the green jersey on race day. In addition to determining all the team's starting positions, based on where teams qualed, they then pick what color jersey they wear as well as what pit their team is in on race day. During spring break, the Black Key Bulls put down some pretty solid practice runs, so we are really gunning to qualify in the top three rows. Come out and cheer us on tomorrow at Bill Armstrong Stadium at 1:55 p.m., it should definitely be a good show.

Jordan Bailey is a junior majoring in History. He rides for the Black Key Bulls.
