Former IU midfielder Eric Alexander, a 2009 graduate, was invited. to the U.S. National Team training camp by U.S. coach Bob Bradley. Alexander is one of 24 players invited. The training camp is held at the U.S. Soccer's National Training Center in Carson, Calif.
USA's first match is on Jan. 22 against FIFA World Cup finalists Chile. Kickoff is 9 p.m. ET.

Alexander spent the past year as a rookie for FC Dallas of Major League Soccer, helping his team to the MLS Cup title match. He played in 17 games, with 12 starts, two goals and three assists.
During his last three years as a Hoosier, Eric Alexander started 80 games IU played, but appeared in every match of his four year career. In an IU jersey, Alexander scored 12 goals, with the most goals (5) coming in his sophomore year. As a prep, Alexander was named the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Boys High School National Player of the Year and Gatorade National Boys Soccer Player of the Year.
Alexander was part of the first set of seniors in Hoosier soccer history to not make it to the College Cup.
