With 18 goals and 5 assists for a total of 41 points, junior forward Will Bruin has been named a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, and you can be sure this is the first of many of these posts. Indiana's last semifinalist was Brad Ring in 2008. Also, Bruin's 18 goals are the most by any Hoosier this century.
Bruin is one of fifteen semifinalists. From there, the selection committee will narrow that list to three on Dec. 10. Those three will travel to the Missouri Athletic Club and the winner will be announced Jan. 7.
The forward was honored already with the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year, first-team All-Big Ten, and named to the Top Drawer Soccer team of the season. He also received Big Ten Player of the Week recognition three-times in 2010.

Indiana has nine Missouri Athletic Club/Hermann Trophy winners, as the two awards were merged in 2002. Angelo DiBernardo (1978), Armando Betancourt (1981), Ken Snow (1988, 1990), and Brian Maisonneuve (1994) were Hermann Trophy winners, while Snow (1988, 1990) and Todd Yeagley (1994) won the Missouri Athletic Club Player of the Year award. In 2004 Danny O'Rourke won the combined MAC Hermann Trophy.
