GALLERY: Skateboard Park Jam contest draws Southern Indiana skateboarders to Columbus
The Skateboard Park Jam took place July 25, 2020, at Jolie Crider Memorial Skatepark in Columbus, Indiana. All skateboarders, despite their skill level, were welcome to participate in the event that included music, food, contests and games of SKATE, which is similar to HORSE in basketball. The event was hosted by skateboarder James Ott and sponsored by southern Indiana shops such as Rhett Skateboarding, Good Vibrations Tattoo and Body Art and Nomad Skate Shop. Beginner, intermediate and advanced participants competed in the best trick competition. Hugs and high-fives were shared between participants, regardless of who won. The day ended with a highest ollie contest in which skateboards were stacked on top of each other until no one was able to ollie over the stack.
