IUPD detains a pro-Palestine protester April 8, 2024, in Dunn Meadow during eclipse festivities. The demonstrators moved to Dunn Meadow from the Cox Arboretum. This came 17 days before the pro-Palestine encampment started, which lasted 100 days. During that encampment, Indiana State Police and the Indiana University Police Department arrested at least 57 protesters. For 55 protesters, all charges they faced from when they were arrested in the initial days of the encampment were dropped. The encampment in Dunn Meadow continued until Aug. 2, 2024, when a fence was put up around the meadow. Jacob Spudich
