Ted Harrison undergoes a cholesterol-lowering treatment by having blood removed from his body, his bad LDL cholesterol filtered out, and the newly cleaned plasma returned with his red blood cells back to his system on Wednesday at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. The treatment, which is performed every two weeks, is for people like Harrison who are genetically predisposed high cholesterol and don't respond well to drug therapy. Jeff Roberson
