The Hoosiers had a historic season led by new head coach Curt Cignetti. Through the heat, rain and snow flurries, Indiana went 11-1 for the first time in program history, only losing to Ohio State at Ohio Stadium. The team traveled to Pasadena, California, and played UCLA for the first time at the Rose Bowl. The Hoosiers won the Old Oaken Bucket for the first time since 2019 beating Purdue with the largest victory ever. The team was one of the first to become bowl-eligible this season and did not trail in a game until the match against Michigan State on Nov. 2, 2024. The Hoosiers are seeded to play in the first round of the College Football Playoffs on Friday night at University of Notre Dame. If they win, they will go onto the next round to play in the Sugar Bowl against No. 2 ranked University of Georgia.
