While the semester is wrapping up at IU, I’m reminiscing on my four years here. Just like everyone else, I have had my ups and downs during my time here. Of course, I did badly on a few tests and the COVID-19 pandemic came along and canceled my study abroad plans, but I’d much rather dwell on the great times — all the musicals I’ve seen at the auditorium, the friends I’ve made, and of course, Little 500.

I have always been a huge Halloween fan. My family used to do matching costumes and throw a big party every year. The love for Halloween has stayed with me and loving Halloween comes with loving the music for the holiday.

Currently, I’m queuing up the sixth episode of season three of “The Circle” to procrastinate writing this column. But that’s just the thing I want to bring up. I’m watching that, not “Bachelor in Paradise.” Why? Because “Bachelor in Paradise” is boring, and cooler shows featuring love, group dynamics and — of course —drama are doing everything BIP is doing, but better.

LANY, a trio musical group, released its fourth studio album, “gg bb xx,” Sept. 3. The 12 tracks contain all the sounds and lyrical themes people who have listened to the group’s discography expect from them. But, that’s just it. The album is so expected and the songs barely distinguish themselves from one another.

In summer 2020 deep into the pandemic, a friend introduced me to Phoebe Bridgers. Fast forward a little over a year, I find myself masked showing my vaccine card and ID to employees working at the sold-out 4,000 person venue for Bridgers’ opening night of the “Reunion Tour.”

I frequently find myself on BookTok, the side of TikTok teeming with recommendations of old and new books. So when I saw the pink cover featuring the painting “Portrait of a Young Woman in White” on the cover of the book “My Year of Rest and Relaxation,” I recognized it and bought it.
