Indiana softball traveled to Mexico last weekend to compete in the Puerto Vallarta Challenge, where it finished 4-0 to bring its overall record to 8-1. The team pitched its way to two shutouts and seven earned runs across four games throughout a successful weekend.

I will admit I didn’t have high hopes for “Dexter: Original Sin” when it was announced in 2023, given how both the parent series “Dexter” and its one-season sequel “Dexter: New Blood” did not garner well-received finales. I’m glad the producers at Showtime decided to greenlight a prequel series to wash the blood off their hands, so to speak, because it really did feel like a nostalgic breath of fresh air with Clyde Phillips returning as the showrunner.

Peter LoPilato, founder of the Bloomington Ryder Film Series and its accompanying magazine, was an almost immeasurable influence on the Bloomington arts community. Recounting his entire legacy would be an overwhelming task for anybody. But one of his small achievements was Ryder’s yearly screening of each of the Academy Award nominated short films — that is, all 15 of the short documentary, animated and live-action narratives.

Paddington is a bear. He’s really a very small bear, not even 4 feet tall on his hind legs. But he’s a bear all the same, and that’s what matters. He’s quite the distinctive bear too, always wearing his old, tattered red bucket hat and his blue duffle coat which, to be perfectly honest, is nearly just as weathered. And he simply adores marmalade sandwiches — when was the last time you saw a bear enjoy a marmalade sandwich?
