Kelley School of Business professor Richard Schrimper is working to build a network for artists and musicians alike. He is creating CultureU.org, an interactive cultural network for students to promote their work and celebrate different forms of art.

IU responds to Israeli education boycott

IU President Michael McRobbie has withdrawn the University from the American Studies Association in response to the group’s recent endorsement of a boycott of Israeli academic institutions.

IUSA resolution to divest from fossil fuel companies tabled

After debate, a resolution calling for the IUSA executive board to urge President Michael McRobbie and the IU Board of Trustees to divest from publicly traded fossil fuel companies was tabled Wednesday. The resolution is a part of IU's goal to becomecarbon-neutral as part of the Energy Master Plan.

Medical campus proposals requested

IU is now accepting requests for proposals for its academic medical research campus in the greater Evansville region. Currently, the IU School of Medicine is working with Ivy Tech Community College, the University of Southern Indiana and the University of Evansville to bring their health science education facilities together.

IU Northwest assistant professor Anne Balay claimed the University denied her tenure and promotion, resulting in her termination at the end of this school year, because she is a woman and homosexual.

Robel discusses new programs, awards South Korea alumni

On her second day in South Korea, Provost Lauren Robel presented two newly created alumni awards to distinguished IU graduates in the East Asian nation.  Jun Kwang-woo and Heejin Cho became the first two recipients of the awards, which were presented Sunday at the IU Korean Alumni Association’s winter dinner in Seoul, South Korea.

Provost Robel to travel to South Korea

IU Provost Lauren Robel and other IU faculty are traveling Nov. 30 to Seoul, South Korea, to connect with alumni and strengthen existing joint business, economics and law programs between IU and Korean universities.

Faculty Council announces support for Freedom Indiana

The Faculty Council unanimously endorsed President Michael McRobbie’s decision that IU join Freedom Indiana, a state-wide coalition working to defeat the House Joint Resolution 6, Associate Vice President of IU Communications Mark Land said.
