Tango Workshops at John Waldron Arts Center

Cuarteto Tanguero will present the Tanguero Summer Workshop, a learning opportunity for IU Jacobs School of Music musicians as well as members of the community. The workshops will be at the Ivy Tech John Waldron Arts Center from July 23 to 27.

Summer Jam gives back to community

After two years of various charity work, Shawn Perigon will present Summer Jam 2014, a hip-hop and rock concert July 18 at Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

Iron & Wine to play in Bloomington

The Buskirk-Chumley Theater will be presenting the popular indie folk singer-songwriter Sam Beam, better known by his stage name, Iron & Wine. His solo performance will begin at 8 p.m. Sept. 16, and theater directors anticipate the performance will be about three hours.







Masks

Free masks workshop open to community

As part of the annual Lotus Education and Arts Foundation outreach program, Sam Bartlett will instruct two workshops entitled “Masks Around the World.” The workshops will occur at Mathers Museum of World Cultures on Wednesday, July 9 from 6 to 9 p.m., and Sunday, July 13 from 2 to 5 p.m.

Piano Duo to perform Sunday

Piano duo Emile Naoumoff and Yau Cheng will perform at Auer Concert Hall in a free event as part of the Jacobs School of Music Summer Series and the IU Summer Festival of the Arts. The show will start at 8 p.m on July 6.
