For thousands of people every year, the ultimate destination for Mardi Gras is Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Many traditional elements of Mardi Gras stem from the area’s Creole and Cajun culture. Upcoming documentary to explore human trafficking in two nations

Human trafficking and exploitation will become a reality Thursday at the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium. Amy Serrano explores these issues in her documentary, “The Sugar Babies: The Plight of the Children of Agricultural Workers in the Sugar Industry of the Dominican Republic,” which will begin at 2 p.m.

The Union Board and Spirit of ’68 Promotions announced Monday that Feist will performed at the 2008 Little 500 Concert at 7:30 p.m. April 11. Union Board Concerts Director Kathy Cook said Union Board is happy to have a fresh artist.

Just taking your seat before IU’s production of Mary Zimmerman’s “Metamorphoses” can be an unusual experience. Younger theatergoers at the Lee Norvelle Theatre & Drama Center giggled at the bare-chested and toga-clad cast Friday night, whose physical endeavors conveyed a freshness of expression and an ethereal ease.

La Dernier Cri: One for the boys

After a semester of writing columns for the ladies, I have decided to branch out and write about one of (straight) women’s favorite subjects: men. I am as much a fan of the boys as the next girl, but after spending two-and-a-half years at IU, I have decided that the male half of the student population needs a bit of help when it comes to getting dressed in the morning.
