BERLIN – Nobel laureate Guenter Grass has filed a lawsuit against the publisher of his biography for claiming that he voluntarily joined the Nazis’ murderous Waffen-SS unit during World War II, his lawyer said Friday.

After nearly 50 books, New York Times bestselling-author Meg Cabot is at it again. Her well-known series “The Princess Diaries” made a splash at the box office with every teenage girl’s favorite royal Princess Mia, but tiaras will be taking a backseat in Cabot’s new novel “Big Boned.”

Broadway openings delayed as stagehands continue strike

NEW YORK – No talks. No comment. And no opening nights. Wednesday was to have been the New York premiere of “The Farnsworth Invention,” the eagerly anticipated return to Broadway of playwright Aaron Sorkin, the creator of such television shows as “The West Wing” and “Sports Night.”

For 100 years, one opera has been fantastically popular and considered an essential part of any opera house’s repertoire – Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème.” Exactly a century after the 1896 debut of the opera, a rock musical based off the characters and events was reinvented for the Broadway stage, and has since enjoyed the same amount of notoriety and controversy.
