Column: Falling into the finish

·

Freshman forward Cody Zeller recorded his third double-double of the season. Now that I’ve told you every positive from IU’s 78-66 loss in Iowa on Sunday, let’s focus on why this was one of the most disappointing defeats of the Hoosiers’ season.

Hoosiers fall to Hawkeyes 78-66

·

After scoring a Big Ten Conference-high 103 points in IU’s first meeting against Iowa, the Hoosiers offense was all but absent on Sunday afternoon.

Losing streak stretches to unlucky 13 for IU

·

The number 13 has never been particularly lucky, and neither has the IU women’s basketball team in Big Ten play this season. After falling to No. 9 Ohio State (22-3, 10-3 Big Ten) in Columbus, Ohio, Thursday night 75-54, IU’s (5-21, 0-13) losing streak hit unlucky number 13 with only three games remaining in the season.

Hoosiers search for 1st Big Ten win in Michigan

·

The IU women’s basketball team will look to avenge its loss from earlier in the year when it battles the Michigan Wolverines at noon Sunday in Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers (5-20, 0-12) fell to Michigan (18-7, 7-5) on Jan. 22 in the first matchup of the year between the two schools, 66-48.

Rematch against Iowa to focus on defense

·

All IU Coach Tom Crean cares about after IU's win over Iowa is that his team allowed a season-worst 89 points in the first meeting with Iowa this season. Crean said it will be the main area of concern when they square off at 6 p.m. Sunday in Iowa City, Iowa.

Column: Winning without Zeller

·

Coming out of the timeout, Verdell Jones III, Christian Watford, Will Sheehey, Victor Oladipo and other reinforcements from the bench, who scored 22, somehow got it done.

IU refuses to quit before taking on Ohio State

·

Even as the Hoosiers travel Thursday night to Columbus, Ohio, to take on the No. 9 Ohio State Buckeyes, who are currently second in the Big Ten standings, IU women’s basketball Coach Felisha Legette-Jack’s players sound as positive and as confident as ever.

Live Chat: No. 18/20 IU vs. Northwestern

The No. 18/20 Hoosiers go for their third straight victory tonight at home against the Northwestern Wildcats. Follow along and share your opinion here.

Men's Basketball vs. Northwestern

After layoff, Hoosiers to face Wildcats tonight

·

For IU basketball fans, the past four years have been filled with restless anticipation of a return to the NCAA Tournament. These four years of watching the tournament from home pales in comparison to the Northwestern Wildcats’ 73 years of never hearing their name called on Selection Sunday.

Northwestern’s dynamic duo

·

When the IU men’s basketball team takes on Northwestern at 6:30 p.m. today at Assembly Hall, it will be squaring off with the Big Ten’s top-scoring duo.

Column: Scouting the Wildcats

·

I have a better chance of landing a date with a Third Street sorority girl than Northwestern does of winning this game. The ninth-place Wildcats continue their descent into the Big Ten’s basement and another likely absence at the NCAA Tournament as they roll into Bloomington.

Column: Hoosier Valentine

·

It’s not easy to tell somebody how you feel about them. Love, lust or aggravation — sometimes the right gift can communicate everything you want to say. On the brink of IU’s most successful regular season record in four years, I thought it fitting to give a few Hoosiers Valentine’s presents.
