IU sophomore forward Christian Watford wanted to make one thing clear: Not one player on the roster believes the season will end after Thursday night’s matchup against Penn State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.
Seniors Jori Davis, Andrea McGuirt and Whitney Lindsay represented half of Coach Felisha Legette-Jack’s first recruiting class and were the only ones from that inaugural year to stay at IU for all four years. During their junior year, they were joined by Hope Elam. Now all four seniors prepare to leave the IU basketball program.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – When asked about his team’s performance against Illinois on Saturday, IU junior guard Verdell Jones answered with three words: “disappointing and embarrassing.”

The stage was set for an upset. The 10th-seeded Hoosiers were facing seventh-seeded archrival Purdue. IU coach Felisha Legette-Jack’s first recruiting class was fighting to keep its season alive. But this script did not conclude with an ideal ending for the Hoosiers.
There are probably a few ways to look on Jeremiah Rivers’ career as an IU basketball player. Yes, some good, some very good and some that didn’t quite reach expectations.But Thursday night was Rivers’ Senior Night, and as the team’s only true senior, it was (more or less) his alone.
Wisconsin guard Jordan Taylor led all scorers with 39 points as the No. 10 Badgers defeated IU 77-67 in Assembly Hall.

IU’s lone senior, Jeremiah Rivers, will step on McCracken Court in Assembly Hall for the final time tonight. The Indiana Daily Student caught up with Rivers as he reflected on his past with the Hoosiers and looked to his future after college.
The start of the Big Ten Tournament is the beginning of a new opportunity for the IU women’s basketball team. It is the players’ final chance to prove that their overall season record does not reflect the strength of their team.
It’s a question that’s been tossed around more and more as IU’s season ends with a whimper. Is this year’s team really no better than it was last year?
