Well, folks, it’s time to say goodbye. It’s been a pleasure writing to you these last 12 months, and looking back at the ground we’ve covered, it occurs to me I ought to say thank you for not punching me silly at Kilroys for some of the lunacy I’ve put in this space.

Jacksonville junior pledges to IU

Six Class of 2009 recruits will officially join the team in June, but IU men’s basketball coach Tom Crean already has one verbal commitment for the following year: junior David Williams.

IU to play Maryland in Big Ten/ACC Challenge

IU Athletics announced Wednesday the Hoosiers will welcome the Maryland Terrapins to Assembly Hall in December as part of the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Tom Crean, IU teams now on Twitter

IU men's basketball coach Tom Crean is the latest celebrity to join Twitter. A story on the IU Athletics Web site made the announcement on Friday. Fans can see what Crean's up to by following @TomCrean.

Hoosier fans can expect different team next year

The ragtag group that made up the 2008-2009 team – a squad composed of players with virtually no Division I experience or any familiarity with one another – will have an influx of new players to go along with the remaining roster.

Williams departure from IU not that surprising

Listen. Players transfer. It’s nothing really underhanded or wrong; guys just realize that what was once a good fit for them now runs a little bit too tight. It’s one of the most common occurrences in college sports, sometimes more so than winning itself.

IU's Williams to leave at end of semester

IU freshman guard Nick Williams has decided to transfer to another school at the end of the semester. The 6-foot-4 Williams, from Mobile, Ala., started 29 games last season and averaged 8.9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

MIAMI — Isiah Thomas is back in coaching, and Florida International wound up as his surprising destination. The former IU player and NBA coach was hired to take over FIU's program Tuesday, a move that gives the Hall of Fame player a chance to revive his career.
