Teenage girl reports rape to police

A teenage juvenile female reported being raped by a male acquaintance about four months ago on Bloomington’s South side.

Fight breaks out at park on Kirkwood

A man was arrested for aggravated battery after the Bloomington Police Department responded to Peoples Park at about 8 p.m. Monday at the 500 block of East Kirkwood Avenue to a report of a fight, BPD Sgt. Cody Forston said. 


Carrender faces murder charge

Father arrested in son's murder

A Morgan County man faces a preliminary murder charge for the fatal shooting of his 19-year-old son Sunday. David Carrender, 49, is being held without bail in the Morgan County Jail and is expected to be arraigned Wednesday, Morgan County Sheriff Robert Downey said.

Woman reports potential sexual assault

The female was staying with her boyfriend in a hotel on the city’s north side. The two allowed a 41-year-old male acquaintance to stay with them in the room.

Finney found guilty in Pizza X shooting

Finney, 23, was convicted of murder and two other felony counts of carrying a handgun. Finney had a prior conviction of felony intimidation, which raised two misdemeanor charges of carrying a handgun to felonies.

Woman reports sexual assault

A 25-year-old female reported to the Bloomington Police Department on Oct. 2 that she was sexually assaulted by a 29-year-old male Sept. 17, BPD Sgt. Joe Crider said.

The Bloomington Police Department responded to IU Health Bloomington Hospital at about 10:15 p.m. Sept. 30 in regards to a reported sexual assault, BPD Sgt. Joe Crider said.

The Bloomington Police Department  responded to a 911 hang-up call at about 3:30 a.m. Oct. 1 at the Motel 6 in the 1800 Block of North Walnut Street.
