The Bloomington Police Department is investigating a possible attempted rape after a man reportedly entered a woman’s Smallwood Plaza apartment.

Police spoke with the victim at about 12:45 p.m. Sunday at a west-side residence. The victim reported an unknown man forced entry into her residence, confined her and sexually assaulted her.

Child dies from drug overdose, parents arrested for neglect

Brenda Lynn Jay, 21, and Joshua A. Lloyd, 31, are currently being detained at the Monroe County Jail, both facing preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent and possession of a controlled substance. Bond for each of them is set at $100,000 surety and $500 cash.

Woman reports inappropriate unwanted contact in bathroom

Officers responded to McDonald's on the east side of the city at about 5:30 a.m. Thursday in reference to a prior sexual assault, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Joseph Crider said Friday.
