Greg Middleton named to 5th preseason watch list

Despite not stepping onto the field, Greg Middleton has already had quite a summer. The junior defensive end was nominated as one of 36 pass rushers named to the preseason Ted Hendricks Defensive End of the Year Award. Middleton earned honors by being named one of eight finalists for the Hendricks award in 2007.

Anthony Thompson enshrined in Hall of Fame

The College Football Hall of Fame enshrined IU’s all-time leading rusher Anthony Thompson  on Saturday night at a ceremony in South Bend. Thompson was among 16 players and four coaches receiving the honor.

Kellen Lewis reinstated

Junior quarterback Kellen Lewis will be reinstated and will report with the team when training camp opens August 4, said IU head football coach Bill Lynch in a press release Monday

When practice for the IU football team came to a close Wednesday night, apparently nobody told Tracy Porter it was over. Even if someone had, chances are the senior cornerback would have stayed out on the field. After the rest of the team left practice, Porter remained to work with junior wide receiver James Hardy and sophomore quarterback Kellen Lewis in preparation for Saturday night’s opener against the Indiana State Sycamores at Memorial Stadium.
