Governor Mike Pence speaks on a variety of topics at the 2016 State of the State address in Indianapolis on Tuesday. Pence spoke on a variety of topics, from gun control legislation to education bills. "And when we do this, we will fulfill the promise, not just of our time, but we will fulfill the promise first forged beneath that constitution elm in Corydon in 1816—the promise of a state built on freedom that would become a beacon of hope and an example to the nation."

Even with all of these symbols that continuously define the Hoosier state, the governor and legislators made it clear that with regards to state transportation, education healthcare and civil rights legislation, somethings have to change.

Gathered in front of rows of his supporters — many of whom were dressed in white T-shirts with his name on it — Darryl Neher, Democratic candidate for mayor of Bloomington, announced Monday evening a trio of endorsements for his candidacy: former Bloomington City Council President Charlotte Zietlow, Judge Vi Taliaferro and former City Council Clerk Pat Williams.
