IU looks to best slumping Buckeyes at home

Before Wednesday night’s game against Indiana State, the IU softball team had committed errors in eight straight games. Against Big Ten opponent Ohio State this weekend, the Hoosiers will look to stay error-free for a second game and begin to move out of the cellar of the Big Ten.



Since last year’s race, many of the stars have moved on and other teams have improved. Pre-race favorites failed to perform well in qualifications and the competition in Spring Series events was balanced.

It’s up for grabs.

With the 58th annual men’s Little 500 set for Saturday at 2 p.m., Cutters senior Paul Sigfusson has not had time to think about last year’s Little 500 victory and what it will be like to take the track at Bill Armstrong Stadium as defending champions.

Former IU recruit commits to Xavier

IU holds Sycamores to 1 run in 4-1 win

The IU softball team (11-26) took out the Indiana State Sycamores 4-1 on Wednesday as junior pitcher Monica Wright continued her dominance against non-Big Ten Conference opponents.

Hoosiers take pounding in Ohio, use 7 pitchers

IU baseball coach Tracy Smith called on his pitching staff to improve after losing three of four against Illinois last weekend. But a trip east to Oxford, Ohio, only left Smith more frustrated, after Miami (Ohio) took the Hoosier pitching staff to the proverbial barn, scoring 10 earned runs in an 11-4 victory.

Students form golf league in search of competition

Golfers looking to find a place to compete can come to the call-out meeting for the Student Golf League at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kelley School of Business, room 732. The meeting is open to all interested students.

Purdue crashes Indiana Invitational

It’s called the Indiana Invitational, making it appropriate that a team from the state of Indiana would win the tournament. However it wasn’t the Hoosiers that won, but in-state rival Purdue.
