Coming into competition this weekend, sophomore Ashley Rhoades had the chance to jump the NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 1.78 meters in the high jump event. Rhoades, a high jumper on the IU track and field team, got her chance at the Hoosier Hills Invitational Friday in Bloomington.
Nothing comes easy anymore for the Hoosiers. After last weekend’s effortless victories over Marquette and Morehead State, the No. 27 IU women’s tennis team lost 4-3 to No. 21 Tennessee, but beat Ball State 7-0.
The IU women’s basketball team (15-11, 8-6) took on a different look on its way to a 74-65 victory over Michigan (14-10, 7-7) Sunday afternoon at Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers wore pink headbands and pink warm-ups in honor of Think Pink and National Girls and Women in Sports Day.
A week of disappointment ended on a high note for the IU men’s basketball team when the No. 13 Hoosiers defeated No. 10 Michigan State 80-61.
