Much has changed in the last three years of IU field hockey. Games have moved from Mellencamp Pavilion to the new IU Field Hockey Field, players have come and gone and lineups have been altered. But if one thing has remained constant, it has been the presence of senior goalkeeper Haley Exner in net. Exner, who has started all but one game over the last three years and earned All-Big Ten honors the past two seasons, will make her final home start Sunday when IU (7-9, 0-5) plays Northwestern on Senior Day. Lyon hid the odd feelings in his legs for a month before seeking medical help. Soon after, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that affects the nervous system. What made Lyon’s case of MS atypical was that two years earlier his wife had been diagnosed with the same disease. “That’s extremely unusual,” said Dr. David Mattson, director for the IU School of Medicine’s Neuroimmunology/Multiple Sclerosis Program. “Occasionally people will meet because of their MS and get married, but I’ve never had a situation like that.”
