IU cable to carry Big Ten Network

The Big Ten Network may be at a stalemate with major cable companies, but IU’s cable system, Campus Cable TV appears to be persuaded that the Network has value and plans to pick it up eventually.

IU student trains as cage fighter

Cage fighter Luke Taylor manically pounds on the short bag in the balmy confines of the School of Health, Physical Education and Recreation’s “Dungeon,” throwing his entire shoulder, hip and torso into each alternating blow. “Take his side!” fellow fighter Mike Griffin yells, and Taylor swings his hips and legs over to the right side of the bag. “Knees!” Griffin shouts as he paces around the bag, keeping one eye on the clock.

Intramural summer season coming to an end

After several weeks of flag football, water volleyball, basketball and dodgeball, the incoming freshmen with the Groups program only have one more week of intramurals before the summer season is officially finished.

Incoming wrestling class ranked 25th in nation by Web site

Only a few months before the start of regular-season play, the Hoosier wrestling team received an accolade that could mean big things for next season. Intermat.com has recently named the incoming freshman class as the 25th best class in the nation.

There were numerous blue and orange “#8” Chicago Bears jerseys on display among the crowd at Bloomington High School South on Thursday morning. The crowd of fans were anxiously awaiting a familiar face. Then, from the parking lot came former Indiana Mr. Football Rex Grossman wearing a purple polo. He returned to hs former school, Bloomington High School South on Thursday to take part in the Day of Champions celebration, benefiting the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington.
