Indiana native Newman wins Brickyard 400

The South Bend, Ind., native and Purdue graduate started from the pole and finished the race in the same position for his first victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He is the third driver to win from the pole in the event, and the first since 2008.

Derek Elston will join a professional team in Malta, Italy, making him the fourth player from this past year's IU squad to sign a professional contract.

Clauson wins Indiana Sprint Week

Driving the No. 20 car, Bryan Clauson took the lead on lap 18 at Bloomington Speedway Friday night in the featured sprint race as part of the Indiana Sprint Week and led the remaining 13 laps to capture victory.
