In their first game of the year on Saturday night, the Hoosiers defeated in-state Football Championship Subdivision opponent Indiana State 24-17 to open the 2012 season 1-0.

Former IU soccer player named MLS Timbers head coach

Late Tuesday night, speculation began to rise about the possible move of Hoosier alumnus and Akron men’s soccer Head Coach Caleb Porter to the Portland Timbers of MLS. On Wednesday afternoon, that report was confirmed by Timbers General Manager Gavin Wilkinson.
