The team needed a win against Wisconsin to maintain an opportunity to earn a Big Ten tournament berth this season. Instead, the Badgers’ 2-0 victory Sunday extinguished any chance for IU’s seniors to culminate their collegiate careers with a postseason match.

Football vs. Iowa

Roberson makes history

·

Tre Roberson became the first true freshman to start at quarterback in school history Saturday afternoon. Though the result for IU (1-7, 0-4) was a 45-24 loss to Iowa (5-2, 2-1), Roberson was 16-for-24 for 197 yards with a touchdown through the air. He ran the ball 16 times for 84 yards and another score.

Gunner Kiel opens commitment

Steve Wilfong of 247sports.com reported at about 11 a.m. that Kiel, the top-rated quarterback recruit in the country according to Rivals.com, is not only opening his commitment, but will be making an unofficial visit to Notre Dame this Saturday when the team plays USC.

Last Time: With junior Brant Peaper firing a low 65 and senior co-captain Chase Wright making his third top-10 finish of the season, the IU men’s golf team posted its season-best 11-over-par 851 last week at the Windon Memorial.
