Phi Delta Theta, Teter win Team Pursuit, white jersey

·

If the 2010 Women’s Little 500 Spring Series could be defined in only three words, a good start might be “Caitlin Van Kooten.” With the most dominant individual performance of any male or female rider this spring, the junior Teter rider completed a series sweep as she paced her Teter team to a Team Pursuit title Saturday night.

·

A record 5,325 fans traveled to Memorial Stadium for the annual Cream and Crimson Spring Game on Saturday. But if they were looking for mistake-free football, they went to the wrong place. Seven total turnovers and nine punts highlighted Crimson’s 17-10 victory, something IU coach Bill Lynch attributed to the divided nature of a spring game.

Despite late push, Hoosiers fall to Cardinals

·

For the second consecutive match, the Hoosiers played exceptionally well against a top-40 team. But for the second consecutive match, the IU men’s tennis team walked away with a 4-3 loss.

Baseball

Marching to their own beat

·

IU coach Tracy Smith typically has a few more important things to think about during a game than what his players have chosen as their at-bat or pitching introduction music. But in between decisions about pitching changes, double switches or pinch hitters, Smith admits a select few of those songs booming through the Sembower Field public address system still manage to grab his attention.

Yeagley: ‘Plenty to fix’ in 1-1 stalemate

·

The IU men’s soccer team remained undefeated for the spring Wednesday, though not in the manner it would have liked. Twenty-two shots converted to just one goal for the Hoosiers, who went to 1-0-2 during the spring season with a 1-1 tie in two overtime periods against IU-Purdue University Indianapolis.
