Kyrie Irving, No. 9 in class of 2010, set for IU visit weekend of Oct. 2

It was not a matter of “if,” but instead a matter of “when.” Five-star senior point guard Kyrie Irving will be on campus for his official the weekend of Oct. 2, according to Adam Zagoria.

Middleton hopes to rebound from slow 2008 season

Two seasons ago, IU senior defensive tackle Greg Middleton  led the nation in total sacks with 16 and finished fifth in the Big Ten with 17 tackles for loss. He finished 2008 with only four sacks and 18 tackles on a team that finished last in total defense in the conference.

Team goes 3-0 in first tourney, drops one set

IU volleyball coach Sherry Dunbar and junior middle blocker Ashley Benson both said they would like to start the season 3-0 heading into the Flo Hyman Invitational in Houston. The Hoosiers did just that, winning all three of their matches in the University of Houston-hosted tournament and being crowned champions of the event.

Hoosiers rebound from preseason loss

After losing their first preseason game since 2004 on Thursday, the Hoosiers recovered by beating DePaul 3-0 on Saturday.

The trip from Bloomington to Richmond, Va., was more than 500 miles, but it was worth it. IU field hockey won its first two games by 5 goals for and 3 goals against.

Mack, Reeves suspended for season opener

According to the IU athletics department, IU football coach Bill Lynch has suspended defensive lineman Deonte Mack and linebacker Ian Reeves for their season opener against Eastern Kentucky for violation of team rules.
