IU places 5th at Ohio State

In the final tournament of the regular season, the IU women’s golf team showed it can compete in the postseason with a fifth-place finish in the Lady Buckeye Invitational in Columbus, Ohio.

Freshman Stephen Vogl returns the ball April 12 at the Varsity Tennis Courts. The Hoosiers leave Thursday for the Big Ten Tournament in Ann Arbor, Mich.

In the last two Big Ten match of the season, sophomore Lachlan Ferguson picked up his third and fourth straight win. Yet, the Hoosiers won only one match.

Team splits Big Ten games

After a solid four match Big Ten win streak, IU (14-9, 6-4) dropped two consecutively before beating Michigan State to end the regular season with a win.

With team members’ fingers collectively waving a No. 1 in the air, the IU baseball team made its way down Fee Lane, halting traffic after a 2-1 series win against Penn State.

Running backs shine in spring game

IU coach Bill Lynch stressed  last week the importance of an improved rushing attack. The Hoosiers’ renewed emphasis on the backfield was evident Saturday afternoon, as Demetrius McCray and Darius Willis led the Crimson team to a 28-27 win in the Spring Game.


Juniors Jennifer Balbach and Jenna Cerone round turn four during Team Pursuit on Saturday evening at Bill Armstrong Stadium. Kappa Delta went on the final heat of the women's race and won the event over Kappa Alpha Theta.

Black Key Bulls, Kappa Delta claim Team Pursuit titles

In a 15-lap race to the finish line, Black Key Bulls led the entire way against the Cutters to take home the title of Team Pursuit Champions.Kappa Delta beat out Kappa Alpha Theta in a 12-lap battle for the victory on the women’s side.

Tom Crean, IU teams now on Twitter

IU men's basketball coach Tom Crean is the latest celebrity to join Twitter. A story on the IU Athletics Web site made the announcement on Friday. Fans can see what Crean's up to by following @TomCrean.

IU loses 9-7 to Penn State

Jake Dunning stepped up to bat with the bases loaded, the tying and game-winning runs represented on first and second base. Dunning wasn’t able to convert and was struck out swinging to abruptly end IU’s 9-7 loss to Penn State.

The Spring Game, which is slated for 2 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium, will mark the end of the offseason practice schedule for the Hoosiers. The IU men’s basketball team will sign autographs at the event from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
