Crean signs 10-year contract

IU has signed men's basketball coach Tom Crean to a 10-year contract with a $600,000 per year base salary. The contract also promises $15.72 million in additional income from outside marketing and promotions over the 10 years.PDF: Tom Crean's contract

Student named to committee to find athletic director

By announcing the addition of IU senior Drew Allenspach to the athletics director search committee on Tuesday, IU President Michael McRobbie drew praise from student leaders, who called the announcement a sign of the president’s commitment to student opinion.

The search to find a successor for IU Director of Athletics Rick Greenspan has officially begun. IU President Michael McRobbie announced Friday that he has selected a search committee to find a new athletics director.

Seniors named Athletes of the Year for 2007-08

Senior field hockey goalkeeper Haley Exner and senior swimmer Ben Hesen were named the Indiana University Female and Male Athletes of the Year for 2007-08 by the IU Department of Athletics on Thursday.

Campillo followed this performance by capturing the Spanish National Amateur Championship last week with a 9-under-par 279 and is currently ranked the second-best amateur player in the world.

Ever since his eighth birthday, IU senior Jorge Campillo has been battling against his countrymen of Spain on the golf course.At the Spanish National Amateur Championship last week, Campillo got the better of all of them, winning in dominant fashion by five strokes.

Report: Tom Crean agrees to 2 more years

The Indianapolis Star reported Monday that IU coach Tom Crean received a two-year contract extension until the 2017-2018 season, although the coach has yet to sign an actual contract with the University. IU officials declined comment about the status of the contract.

Loukas wins 2nd 1-meter springboard title

As the Olympics draw near, Beijing-bound IU senior diver Christina Loukas is on a roll. Thursday, Loukas successfully defended her title in the one-meter springboard at the 2008 Kaiser Parmanente National Diving Championships.
