Volleyball team falls to Iowa, No. 6 Minnesota

The volleyball team dropped two Big Ten games this weekend in its conference home openers. The Hoosiers are 10-4 overall and 1-3 in the Big Ten. IU fell to Iowa (7-5, 3-1) in five games Friday (5-15, 15-12, 15-9, 7-15, 6-15) and then dropped three consecutive games to No. 6 Minnesota Saturday (15-9,15-12, 15-8).

Big Brothers/Big Sisters' waiting list grows

"This meeting is going to be pretty boring," Sung Won Sohn, chief economist at Wells Fargo & Co., told msnbc.com. Pat Knight accepts position at University of Akron

Pat Knight, former assistant men's basketball coach and son of former coach Bob Knight, has accepted an assistant coaching position with the University of Akron's men's basketball team. Knight will replace Saint Crawford, who is looking at another position elsewhere. Knight's official start date is Oct. 16.

Tonight in State College, Pa., No. 14 Indiana and No. 3 Penn State go to battle in a clash that will most likely determine the Big Ten regular season soccer champion. Few can argue Indiana is among the most storied programs in collegiate soccer, a status earned by decades of consistency and success. But, the same cannot be said for the Nittany Lions' soccer team. Sure, they have made vast improvements in the past few seasons, but they haven't had the staying power to make it to IU's level quite yet.
